talk to my lawyer

I watch this show on tv when i can: the first 48, about murder cases and the detectives that solve them.

In most every single show they get some guy in an interrogation room ("we just want to talk about something with you...").

Then they tell them "listen buddy, we already got ray ray in the other room and he told us everything, so you better talk to us"

then the guy says: "ok, um, yeah i killed him"

then they get executed or something

in one show they nabbed koko (a name i made up for him) and he was like: i don't know, i don't know that area i don't go outside much, just stay inside, i don't know that guy, i don't know

the cop was like: can you tell us something you do know?

koko: i don't know much about nothing

they let him go, but found out later that he was an accomplice to the murder, with another dude

they got the other dude who was like: um, yeah ok, i shot those guys but it was like self-defense and stuff, koko was with me he can tell you, he shot them too

they get koko

koko: give me a lawyer

the end of the show was like this: dude gets convicted and faces the death penalty (did not get a lawyer and confessed immediately to the police).... koko is free after agreeing to testify against dude (koko gets a lawyer and leaves prison).

everyone knows you're not supposed to talk to the cops without a lawyer right? the cops even tell you that one.
